I am excited, as the Board Chair of The Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber (BWCC), to announce that your Board of Directors has voted to merge with the West County Chamber. The process will commence in January 2017 and the new organization will be led by Raj Kudchadkar, CEO, Nancy LaJoice, Membership Director, and Kim Wirt, Operations Director.
The resulting organization will have 650 members and a much larger influence on the business and political community than either chamber had apart. The Board of Directors and I are confident the new organization will be of tremendous value for members. Our guiding principle through this merger was to provide an enhanced member experience and level of support. This merger will create economies of scale and efficiencies, enhance member benefits, increase legislative leverage and provide enhanced staffing to support member needs. The two organizations joining together is a huge asset to current members and an opportunity for companies not yet members to join and become engaged with the largest chamber in the region and one of the largest in the state.
The great signature events of both chambers like the Annual Meeting and the Economic Forum will be even better! Many new activities and events are planned to enhance each members’ chamber experience. Our committees such as the Legislative Affairs, Membership, and Communications will ramp up in the new year. New groups like Military Affairs and Economic Development will be active and influential. I encourage you to get involved and make your membership valuable for your business or organization. Details about your member benefits, upcoming events and other programs will be coming out in the new year. Thank you for your support of the BWCC in the past and your continued support and involvement with the new organization. 2017 promises to be a very exciting year!
Have a great Holiday Season!
