Hogan says he’ll push for 187 changes recommended by group to improve business climate

The Maryland Regulatory Reform Commission’s latest report recommends 187 regulatory changes that will help improve the state’s business environment, including allowing mortgage lenders and others to apply for licenses and complete paperwork electronically.

The commission’s report focused on streamlining, repealing or amending state regulations seen by businesses as overburdensome, unnecessary and redundant. Chairman Abba David Poliakoff said the changes seek to shorten review times and eliminate duplicative filings and procedures — common complaints from business owners throughout the state.
