As new connector opens, BWI ranks as a top airport for holiday travel

The holidays are one of the busiest times for airports across the country, so choosing the right airport to fly out of may give you less headaches than others.

Thankfully, the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is one of the best in the country for holiday travel, according to a new study, while a newly opened addition could help make the experience even smoother for travelers.

Nerdwallet, a financial tools and advice website, recently combed airport data from 2013-2015 to figure out which U.S. airports offered the best travel experience during November and December. The company used the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation statistics to compile the list.

BWI came in at No. 14 on the list of the 50 busiest airports, with the percentage of flights delayed for a short period of time higher than some competitors while getting high marks for percentage of total canceled flights and restaurant offerings.
