Cordish buys, will rebrand two Arundel Mills hotels near Maryland Live

The Cordish Cos.’ first Live branded hotel just broke ground last week at Maryland Live Casino, and a second hotel under the brand is already in the works across the street.

The Baltimore-based developer announced Wednesday the acquisition of the 11-story Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites, both operated by Hilton, at 7491 New Ridge Road in Hanover.

Slated to be called Live Lofts, the 250-room boutique hotel will undergo a $3 million renovation. The property, home to more than 100 suites, has an indoor pool and spa, the Loft Grill restaurant, the Lounge bar. The hotel will provide shuttle transportation to Maryland Live Casino — owned by Cordish — and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
