Auto importer to open terminal at Sparrows Point

Starting next month, Fiats and Chryslers will roll off of ships docked at the former Sparrows Point steel mill in Baltimore County.

California-based Pasha Automotive Services is opening an automotive terminal at the former mill site, now called Tradepoint Atlantic. The company plans to import hundreds of thousands of cars at Sparrows Point each year, with the first vessel call scheduled for July.

The deal represents a significant step forward for Tradepoint Atlantic as it works to turn the shuttered steel mill into an industrial campus. Previously announced tenants include a FedEx distribution center, now under construction, and a Harley Davidson training academy.
