Sparrows Point developer plots 130-acre hotel, retail project

Shoppes at Tradepoint Atlantic

LAS VEGAS — Plans are underway to build a 130-acre mixed-use development at Sparrows Point on property that once held the region’s economic mainstay, the Bethlehem Steel mill.

Leasing representatives for the point’s new owners, Tradepoint Atlantic, are shopping possibilities at the site at the annual International Council of Shopping Centers RECon convention.

The mixed-use strip will be called The Shoppes at Tradepoint Atlantic. It will be located on a small portion of the 3,100-acre former industrial land off Interstate 695 at Peninsula Expressway in eastern Baltimore County. A rendering shows two hotels, a grocery store, a gas station, restaurants and retail.
