Gov. Hogan proposes $480 million in tax cuts statewide

A day before the 2016 General Assembly session is set to open, Gov. Larry Hogan unveiled a $480 million package of tax relief measures that focus on small businesses, working families, manufacturers and retirees.

The package could impact up to 1 million Marylanders and will be introduced before legislators in Annapolis in the upcoming weeks.

It will be part of his $17.1 billion operating budget for fiscal year 2017 that begins in July.

Hogan’s budget was unveiled last week and posts a 4 percent increase over the 2016 budget approved by the General Assembly in 2016 that totaled $16.4 billion.
