GSA releases report card on FBI’s 3 potential new headquarters

The General Services Administration released its long-anticipated environmental impact report on the three sites in consideration for a new FBI headquarters — a comprehensive analysis that both Maryland and Virginia advocates alike will likely use to tout their state as the best choice for the nation’s top law enforcement agency.

The draft report highlights a host of concerns and issues that must be addressed whether the agency moves to Greenbelt, Landover or Springfield, including the need for significant improvements to transportation. It does not appear to give a significant advantage or disadvantage to any location. Rather, it presents a list of things the developers vying to build agency headquarters will have to consider as the GSA plans to issue a request for proposals later this year.
