Condor announces expanded BWI schedule for 2016

RANKFURT, GERMANY–(Marketwired – Nov 4, 2015) – Passengers from the greater Baltimore/Washington region will soon have the option to start their journey across the pond starting in May 2016. Condor Airlines will offer an extended season between Baltimore/Washington (BWI) and Frankfurt, Germany (FRA) in summer 2016.

“Condor is a great partner, and we’re thrilled the airline will offer more flights at BWI Marshall next year,” said Ricky Smith, Chief Executive Officer for BWI Marshall Airport. “The extended season is another example of the growing international service offered at BWI Marshall. Condor provides excellent service and easy access to Frankfurt and beyond.”

Condor’s summer 2016 season will start on May 13, 2016 with three weekly nonstop flights to Frankfurt, Germany. Compared to 2015, this extension adds almost eight weeks of additional transatlantic service to the BWI airport.

“Our program from Baltimore and the National Capital region in the last three years was so well received that we have added a third frequency this year and are now taking the next step by starting the summer 2016 season early in May,” explains Titus Johnson, Vice President North America at Condor Flugdienst GmbH. “We offer a wide range of well-priced options to start a transatlantic journey from BWI and once in Frankfurt, passengers can connect seamlessly to nearly all German and European cities.”

Condor Flugdienst GmbH has been flying its passengers to the world’s most beautiful holiday destinations since 1956. On an annual basis, more than 7 million passengers fly with Condor to around 75 destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Since 2013, the German airline Condor, is part of the Thomas Cook Group Airlines to which the Thomas Cook Airlines UK, Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium and Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia also belong. The fleet of the airlines in the Thomas Cook Group comprises 91 modern and environmentally friendly aircraft, of which 42 aircraft are in the Condor fleet: 9 Airbus A320s, 7 Airbus A321, 13 Boeing 757-300s and 13 Boeing 767-300s. The aircraft are maintained by the airline’s own technical operations. Condor is enjoying great popularity among German people and can refer to itself as “Brand of the Year 2015“. This is the finding of a ranking carried out by the market research institute YouGov on behalf of the German business newspaper Handelsblatt, based on 700,000 online surveys. In the “Mobility” category, Condor achieved very good survey results. The annual “Brand of the Year 2015” distinction awards prizes to the strongest brands from various industries from a consumer viewpoint.
