Norman Augustine: ‘We have to connect our cart to the horse’ for STEM jobs

Although Norman Augustine‘s Maryland Economic Development and Business Climate Commission isn’t ready just yet to talk about taxes in the state, he is ready to push STEM education throughout Maryland’s public schools.

Speaking at the Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber’s event, “Making Maryland More Competitive,” on Thursday, Augustine declined to talk about his commission’s — more commonly known as the Augustine Commission — recommendations on taxes in the state to make it more business-friendly. However, he said that in order for Maryland to keep up among other states, schools need to push science, technology, engineering and math education harder.
