County to consider Maryland Live hotel plan

The long-awaited hotel and conference center at the Maryland Live casino could be inching closer to fruition.

A measure sent to the Anne Arundel County Council on Monday would allow the county to issue bonds for up to $22.5 million for a project that would include a hotel and conference center behind the Hanover casino.

The measure would create a tax increment development district and a special fund that would allocate the difference between current and future property tax levies on the site to pay to secure bonds to finance the project.
