Kris Valerio Shock Resigns as Executive Director at Chesapeake Regional Tech Council

Annapolis, MD – June 9, 2015 – The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council (CRTC) announced that Kris Valerio Shock, the Council’s Executive Director, has submitted her resignation to accept a position in the private sector.  Shock’s departure comes after seven years of distinguished service to the Tech Council in which she advanced many of the organization’s goals and helped strengthen Maryland’s technology business community. “Kris has been a passionate and dedicated leader for our organization. Her ability to advocate for our members, build partnerships and drive the organization forward has been invaluable and serves as a model for those who follow. While we are sorry to see her go, we are so very fortunate to have benefited from Kris’ leadership. The CRTC will continue to build upon the strength and reach achieved during her tenure in its mission to advance the region’s technology business community.” said Jason Silva, CRTC Board President.

Shock is credited with successfully transitioning the CRTC (formerly the Anne Arundel Tech Council) to a vibrant regional business organization including growing membership from 200 to more than 300 member companies, bolstering internal & external communications strategies by implementing CRTC’s web-based membership platform, creating CRTC’s public policy forum and dramatically enhancing CRTC’s financial stability. “It has been a privilege to work shoulder to shoulder with the CRTC team and member network to propel the exchange of ideas, expertise and business opportunities in our regional tech community. True credit for the great success of the organization is due to a dedicated team and a rich ecosystem of members, sponsors and strategic partners. I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and progress of the CRTC network for years to come.” Shock said.

Shock will conclude her tenure with the organization on June 30th. The CRTC Board of Directors will be launching a search to identify CRTC’s next Executive Director shortly.  Details will be announced shortly and available at www.chesapeaketech.org.
