Howard County Celebrates 24th Business Appreciation Week

Businesses interested in participating Urged to Register Now

Columbia, MD (April 1, 2015) – More than 100 businesses will be visited during the week of May 4 as part of Howard County’s annual Business Appreciation Week – a week set aside to directly engage area businesses. The visits will include the full range of businesses from startups to large companies.

“Business owners know that Howard County is a great place to live, work and grow,” said Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman. “We have a top-notch workforce, the best schools, and extraordinary amenities, but it’s also critical that we hear from business owners as we strive to make Howard County an even better place for them to grow their companies and for us to grow our economy.”

Business visits are expected to take approximately one hour and will run each day from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Teams of ambassadors will meet with the company’s leadership, employees and tour the business.

“We know businesses have choices and the fact that thousands call Howard County home is a testament to the county’s welcoming business climate,” said Howard County Economic Development Authority CEO Lawrence F. Twele. “Thanking business owners and listening to them are important parts of the process. We want to hear about their needs and what we can do to assist them.”

Businesses interested in participating in Business Appreciation Week can register at www.baw15.eventbrite.com. Interested companies are encouraged to sign-up early as the slots are expected to fill quickly.
