Spring Exercise Classes Return Monday, April 6 

Spring is making it’s return and many of us will want to get outside and enjoy what mother nature has to offer after a long, cold winter. What better way to shake off the cobwebs by enrolling in an exercise class at UM BWMC?

A wide array of classes from yoga, Tai-Chi and fitness fusion are offered for individuals of all fitness levels. The next session of classes begin on Monday, April 6. The cost of the ten-week session is $60. For more information please call 410-553-8103. Online registration is requested.

 

UM BWMC ‘Color Your Heart 5K Run’ May 30 

Looking for something to do that the whole family will enjoy? Then join UM BWMC as we host the “Color Your Heart 5k Fun Run”, Saturday, May 30 at Kinder Farm Park. This non-competitve race begins at 8 a.m. and is open to everyone of all ages and fitness levels. Registration is limited so reserve your spot today. To register please visit our website. Gastric Reflux Lecture Wednesday, April 22    

Are you taking antacids to help alleviate the chronic symptoms of gastric reflux? We may have an answer for you. UM BWMC surgeon Marie Claire Ziesat, M.D. will provide a free lecture, “Gut Wrenching: The Ups and Downs of Gastric Reflux” on Wednesday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. at UM BWMC. Dr. Ziesat will discuss digestive health issues and common digestive disorders including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Attendees will learn about symptoms, risk factors and non-surgical and surgical treatment options. Attendees will have the opportunity to enter to win a $50 gift card. UM BWMC Celebrates Earth Day with Fair      

Is your basement full of old newspapers that need to be cleared? Do you have old medications that need to be disposed of but you aren’t sure what to do with them? UM BWMC will celebrate Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22 by hosting a free Earth Day Fair for employees and community members. Attendees can recycle old cell phones and eyeglasses. UM BWMC will also dispose of expired prescription and over-the-counter medications and shred personal and confidential documents. There will be educational displays and interactive demonstrations on recycling, renewable energy and eco-friendly living. The first 100 attendees will receive a free drawstring backpack.

The event will be held on the front lawn of UM BWMC (301 Hospital Drive) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Free parking is available in the visitors garage located next to the medical center.
