Larry Hogan adds 2 Bob Ehrlich-era officials to his cabine

Governor-elect Larry Hogan is bringing back two Ehrlich-era appointments to fill out his own cabinet.

Hogan on Tuesday named Al Redmer Jr. insurance commissioner and George Owings III as secretary of veterans affairs. Both held the same positions under former Gov. Robert Ehrlich, the state’s most recent Republic governor who served from 2003 to 2007.

Redmer, a Republican, served as insurance commissioner from 2003 to 2005. Prior to his appointment he represented Baltimore County in the state’s house of delegates. Most recently Redmer has worked as an insurance broker. He is president of Redmer Insurance Group in Baltimore.
