Hogan names four Cabinet heads

ANNAPOLIS—Republican Gov.-Elect Larry Hogan named his first four Cabinet secretaries Wednesday, which include a Republican delegate and a holdover from the administration of Democratic Gov. Martin J. O’Malley.

Included in his first cabinet appointments are:

  • James D. Fielder as appointments secretary, a position held by Hogan under Republican former Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.. The 67-year old Harford County native is currently the Bel Air town administrator and was a member of Hogan’s transition team. He previously served as secretary of the Department of Licensing, Labor and Regulation under Ehrlich. He holds a doctorate in higher education administration from Michigan State University and was the Director, Budget, Human Resources, and Analysis, University of Michigan from 1981 to 1983. He also served as vice president for administration and finance, at Towson University, 1999-2000
