Budget priorities dominate Schuh’s first week in office

New county executive wants money for tax cut, new high school and public safety personnel

 Steve Schuh shuts his eyes tightly and puts a hand on his forehead. A county budget overview sits in his lap. He’s talking money — crunching millions by memory.

Schuh is in his third day as Anne Arundel County executive.

The walls of his fourth-floor office in the Arundel Center are bare — as is much of the office — as he paces back and forth. There are piles of papers on his desk, and he sorts through the stacks as he describes his priorities.
