For those of you with business operations in Maryland, please note the following:

Maryland Employers:

  •  As you are aware from my prior client alert, state law now prohibits discrimination in employment based on gender identity.  The new, updated poster is now available.  If you have not already obtained this from a vendor you can download a copy here.

Montgomery County, MD Employers:

  •  In addition to the recent minimum wage increase, the County Executive signed ban-the-box legislation on November 10th that delays when certain employers may inquire about an applicant’s criminal history or obtain related records.
  • The new minimum wage poster for employers in this county is here.

Prince George’s County, MD Employers:

  •  The County Council voted unanimously on November 19th to also enact ban-the-box legislation.  Read more here.
