Hogan says he could start making key appointments in Md. as early as next week

Maryland Gov.-elect Larry Hogan (R) said Tuesday that he could start rolling out senior staff and Cabinet picks as early as next week and will definitely make some personnel announcements before Christmas.

“We’re very close to making some decisions,” Hogan said. “We’ve got a terrific group of potential people to look at. It’s a problem of trying to narrow it down to the very best ones.”

Hogan’s comments came at a news conference at which he announced another 31 people who are serving on his transition committee, a group intended to help prepare him to take office Jan. 21. Aside from his lieutenant governor — running mate Boyd K. Rutherford — Hogan has yet to name anyone else to his administration.
