Getting Anne Arundel County Veterans Back to Business

Millersville, MD (August 08, 2014) – Project Opportunity, a free entrepreneurship class for veterans, returns to Anne Arundel County this fall thanks to a partnership with Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC).  This is the second time the two organizations have partnered up.  Project Opportunity is a free eleven-week intensive course for veterans looking to start their own business or grow their small business.  Coursework covers everything from fine tuning a business plan to finding funding in order to launch a business.

“Project opportunity was a great success earlier this year” said Kirkland J. Murray, President and CEO of AAWDC.  “We had eight veterans complete the intense program last time, and we hope to have even more graduates this year. These participants create businesses in Anne Arundel County and eventually become employers, helping us continue to improve the economy of Anne Arundel County. I’m excited to see the success that will come out of this new group.”

Project opportunity will hold an orientation session August 14th in Odenton, Maryland. Space is limited and interested veterans should contact the Project Opportunity staff at BDILTS@Comcast.net to register.  For more information about the program, you can visit www.project-opportunity.com.

Project Opportunity was founded by retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant Joe Giordano on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 2010. Since starting Project Opportunity, Giordano and his team have successfully worked with over 100 veterans, all of which are currently pursuing their dreams of owning a small business.
